Step 1: Create a Google Analytics Account

  • Go to the Google Analytics website.

  • Click on "Start for free" to create an account.

  • Sign in with your Google account or create a new one if you don't have one.

Step 2: Set Up a Property

  • Once logged in, click on "Admin" in the lower-left corner.

  • In the Property column, click on "Create Property."

  • Enter your website name, URL, industry category, and reporting time zone.

  • Click "Create" to set up the property.

Step 3: Get the Tracking ID

  • After creating the property, you will be provided with a Tracking ID (in the format UA-XXXXXXXXX-X).

  • Copy this Tracking ID for later use.

Step 4: Add the Tracking Code to Your Website

  • In the Admin section, click on "Tracking Info" and then "Tracking Code."

  • You will see the Global Site Tag (gtag.js) code snippet.

  • Copy the entire code snippet.

  • Paste this code into the <head> section of every page of your website you want to track.

Step 5: Verify the Tracking Code

  • After adding the tracking code, go back to Google Analytics.

  • In the Admin section, navigate to "Real-Time" and then "Overview."

  • Visit your website in another tab and check if the real-time data shows your activity.

Step 6: Set Up Goals and Conversions (Optional)

  • In the Admin section, click on "Goals" under the View column.

  • Click on "New Goal" and follow the prompts to set up specific goals (e.g., form submissions, purchases).
